GENERAL ROLLERS
Hiawatha Rubber specializes in the close tolerance, functionally critical rubber rollers that other fabricators find difficult to produce.
Our engineers, technicians and chemists are experienced problem solvers and will work concurrently with your technical group to find the solution that best meets your design criteria. The more difficult your roller design and applications are, the more valuable we can become as a partner in production for your company.
The majority of our rollers are manufactured as a vulcanized molded process. This process uses heat and pressure to cure the rubber. Bonding of the rubber to the core also takes place during this process.
Hiawatha's well equipped Grinding Department can supply your rollers with a wide range of surface finishes. Some finishes are dependent on material and durometer (hardness). Finishes can be ultra-smooth to coarse, such as scale or crepe.
When selecting a rubber compound for your roller application, please call us with your requirements and our on-site chemist will help you determine the best material.
Applications:
- Photocopy Rollers

CLEANING ROLLERS

Cleaning rollers are highly specialized rollers used to clean the surface of another object. This technology can be applied to countless applications and these types of rollers are particularly useful for removing dust and particulate. For example, Hiawatha Rubber has developed solutions for circuit board, laser etching on plastic and photographic film cleaning applications.
The following parameters should be considered when designing a cleaning roller:
- Outside diameter tolerance
- Runout tolerance
- Surface finish (usually smooth)
- Hub material (aluminum is preferred, but not limited to)
- Amount of tackiness required, which can be adjusted by Hiawatha
